3 Seed Tea

So, what is 3 Seed Tea?  3 Seed tea is an equal combination of Coriander, Cumin, and Fennel Seeds.  It is a traditional Ayurvedic Medicinal Recipe.  Ayurvedic Medicine is the ancient healing art practiced throughout India for thousands of years.  It imparts traditional home remedies and common-sense guidelines.

This recipe is meant to aid in digestive issues, as well as promoting gut health.  The combination of the 3 herbs used improve circulation, blood purification and lymphatic health.

Fennel Seeds – This seed has been traditionally used to stimulate digestive juices within the gut, reduce indigestion, prevent gas and aid in constipation relief.  Fennel has been known to be chewed after a meal to support digestion.  Fennel is also known to be a respiratory and calming agent (colicky breast-fed babies), as well as improving milk supply in breastfeeding women.

Cumin Seeds – This seed has also been used as a digestive aide, as well as aiding the bodies ability to balance blood sugar, as well as respiratory issues.  Cumin also stimulates digestive enzymes, which improve nutrient assimilation.  Cumin has also been thought to bring balance to the 3 doshas within the body.

Coriander Seeds – This sees, supports digestion, combating allergies and aiding in the reduction of bloating.  Coriander is also known to support the liver, which plays a vital role in detoxification and balancing blood sugar levels.  Also used in respiratory issues and as a calming agent.

In order to activate the seeds, it is prescribed to consume the tea hot, 2-3 cups a day.  Do not consume this tea too late at night.  Being a diuretic, you don’t want to be up all hours of the night having to go the bathroom.
