Flavored Honey

Flavored Honeys: Sweeten Your Relationship with Honey – Sweeteners have the potential to completely change the flavor profile of any drink or dish. Honey, particularly raw honey, is a popular sweetener because of its nutritional benefits and great taste. Honey has its own great flavor, but at Tin Roof Teas we’ve taken it upon ourselves to create honey flavor-infusions. These infusions enhance the honey with super concentrated flavors that will bring a new twist to sweetened teas, desserts, and more. Below are some of the flavor-infusions we’ve tried at Tin Roof Teas, as well as what teas and treats pair best with them.

Vanilla-Infused Honey

The addition of vanilla gives this honey a mellow, creamy flavor. Since vanilla is such a neutral flavor, this honey can enhance the taste of nearly any tea. It blends well with the flavor of milk, making it especially good for teas popularly taken with milk, such as breakfast blends and malty assams. This delicately flavored honey can also be drizzled on croissants or ice cream, or used as a flavor enhancer for smoothies.

Carolina Reaper-Infused Honey

Taste this honey at your own risk! The Carolina Reaper is the world’s hottest chili pepper. This Carolina Reaper infused honey has a startling kick to it. Surprisingly, it does pair well with some teas—particularly the already spicy black tea chai blends. This honey works great as a flavorful (and hot!) marinade or as a component in spicy dipping sauces.

Lavender-Infused Honey

The Lavender-Infused honey tastes great in Earl Grey teas and Chamomile blends. Its sophisticated flavor and floral notes make it a unique honey to use as a baking component. It can be used to create lavender-honey cookies or as a sweetener for the buttercream icing on a cake. Rose-infused honey also offers floral notes with a slightly different flavor twist.

Hibiscus-Infused Honey

Despite being a flower, the flavor of hibiscus is as tart as it is floral, making it a slightly bolder flavor than lavender and rose. Hibiscus-infused honey blends well with fruit teas and smoothies. It makes an excellent ingredient for salad dressings or cocktails!

Masala Chai-Infused Honey

Masala Chai tea gets its flavor from a unique blend of spices such as cardamom, ginger, clove, black pepper, and cinnamon. We’ve taken those flavors and put them into a uniquely spicy honey. This honey is a fantastic dessert enhancer. It tastes great in your favorite teas, baked into sweets, and drizzled on top of your morning toast!
