2018 Resolutions

Our 2018 Tea Resolutions: The year 2017 is finally reaching an end. The past twelve months have had their ups and downs, but now we turn our eyes forward towards 2018. As we get ready for the new year, it’s a good time to think about positive changes we can introduce to our lives. If you plan to make tea a part of your life next year, here are a few tea-related resolutions that can help get you started on those changes!

1: Use Less Sweeteners

If you’re a frequent tea drinker, sweeteners can add a lot of extra calories to every cup. Cutting back on the use of sweeteners can make your tea drinking habit a healthy one. If you like your tea a little sweet, there’s no need to cut out sweeteners entirely, but reducing the amount of sugar and honey per cup can make a big difference!

2: Branch Out

If you’re stuck drinking one variety of tea, a new year gives you a good opportunity to branch out and try different varieties! Green tea, herbals, and rooibos blends all have great health benefits and offer a whole library of new flavor profile.

3: Manage Your Caffeine Intake

Cutting out caffeine consumption in the afternoon can aid sleep and decrease anxiousness. Instead of drinking black tea from morning to night, try switching to an herbal or fruit blend once the afternoon rolls around. Flavorful blends like Rip Van Winkle and Rooibos Cream Caramel do a great job at fulfilling your craving for a hot beverage, and they’re completely caffeine free!

4: Respect the Ritual

When making a cup of tea, take time to enjoy the process. Instead of haphazardly throwing a bag into piping hot water, treat your tea leaves with respect. Allow your water to settle at a temperature that won’t burn the tea, give your leaves enough room to unfurl, and let your tea steep for the full amount of time it requires. Not only will you come to enjoy the process, your tea will taste better as a result!

5: Make It Social!

Tea is a great conversation stimulator. While it’s equally enjoyable to enjoy a cup of tea with nothing more than our own company, inviting friends over for tea is a great way to bolster relationships and share your hobby. For centuries tea was used as an excuse to take work breaks and host get-togethers. 2018 is great time to make this kind of culture commonplace again!
