Our Darjeeling Castleton originates from the Castleton Tea Estate in India. Located in the Kurseong (Kurseong translates to Land of the White Orchids), the Castleton Tea Estate dates back to 1885 and is named after a local structure that looks like a castle. This tea is a Third Flush or Autumnal Darjeeling that utilizes Chinese tea bushes. This tea is grown at an altitude of between 4,300 feet and 6,500 feet.

Very nice, more flavorful than I expected. Very slight perfume & citrus but not full-on bergamot. Tannic that’s typical of black teas. I can pick up the slight hay & even slighter floral notes on the finish as stated in the description, but the tannins are more prominent at that point that lead to a pretty watery mouthfeel. This should make a great iced tea as well, as I plan on trying that out soon. Very affordable price and therefore a tea I recommend to novices who are loose-leaf curious.
