Non - GMO Tea

People who are true tea connoisseurs, or simply regular tea drinkers who enjoy high quality tea are often looking for a specialty tea store where they can find fine organic loose leaf tea. Here at Tin Roof Teas, we believe that non-GMO tea is the future.

Hidden Toxins in Mainstream Teas

Many of the big name tea brands contain hidden health risks such as leaves containing pesticides or grown from GMO seeds. Many are unaware of this, but teas actually can contain artificial flavoring, pesticides and hidden GMOs. It is important to pay close attention to what brand of tea you buy because chemicals may be hiding in the bag and packaging as well.

The Tin Roof Tea Difference

Our Store Manager, Ryan Hinson, learned the benefit of loose leaf teas in his early days of learning to love tea. Loose leaf typically offers a higher quality product than bagged tea. As explained above, some tea bags can be adding unwanted “extras” into your tea. Tin Roof Teas was formed with the intention to be a specialty tea store offering a wide selection of loose leaf black tea, herbal teas and fruit teas, to name a few. All of which pair lovely with our natural honey selection.

Non-GMO is the Future

Not only did we free the leaf, but we also believe that the best way is the natural way. Tea has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years; so why would we tamper with nature’s gift? Non-GMO tea leaves ensure that every cup of delicious tea offers up the full goodness given by nature.

However, unbeknownst to many tea-drinkers, GMOs could be sneaking into your teas through secondary ingredients. Medical Daily explains that a recent report revealed “tea companies may be adding GMOs to their products. Modified corn starch and soy lecithin are additives in tea that are most likely made with genetically engineered corn and soy.”

Why We Oppose GMO

Genetically modified organisms are artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering. This is incompatible with a holistic approach to health and healing. GMOs are considered unsafe in most developed nations. However, because they are legal in the United States, consumers often take it into their own hands to discern GMO from non-GMO products. This is why it is increasingly important for American consumers to find reputable and trustworthy companies whom they trust.

A World Of Health in Your Cup

The health benefits of tea are well known. The more commonly known medicinal effects, such as heart health and antioxidants, are reason enough to grab yourself a cup of organic tea. There are also several lesser known beneficial side effects including tooth and bone health and cancer fighting properties.

Tea drinkers know their tea is good for them. But, ultimately, we drink tea because we love it. And, we love our bodies, too. So choose the tea shop who serves up loose leaf the way nature intended.
