Halloween Black Tea Recommendations

Usually when we think of Halloween, edibles like candied apples, candy corn and pumpkin pie come to mind. But you don’t have to fill your mouth with sugar just to have a good time on national trick-or-treat day. You can enjoy a nice warm mug of black tea instead.

What We Love About Black Tea

Black tea is made from leaves that are more heavily oxidized than other teas, so you typically get a stronger flavor and more caffeine and tannins. Black tea can look very different depending on where it comes from (typically Sri Lanka, Africa, China or India).

Some black teas look like tiny dust particles while others appear as detailed rope twists. Tastes also vary widely as well. And, if you don’t drink a lot of black tea, you don’t have to worry about it going stale. The flavor tends to last longer than other teas, usually 1-2 years.

Black Tea on Halloween

When it comes to Halloween, we have ideas that will brighten up any monster mash. Don’t forget to serve up your tea with a tray of witch finger cookies or mummies in a blanket!

Some of the most popular teas at this time of the year are pumpkin spice, apple chai, cranberry and vanilla chai. These flavors are associated with the fall months, and they have a way of making us feel warm and snuggly, especially on those first cold nights of the season. But, we like to think outside the box, which is why we have some of our own recommendations that extend beyond the typical pumpkin and vanilla flavors.

Our Picks for a Spooky Night

When you shop with Tin Roof Teas, you’ll find a great selection of seasonal teas as well as many of our standard black teas that are perfect companions for the fall.

If you prefer a fruit-based tea, try our Apricot black tea that has a warm and nutty flavor, with hints of apricot. It’s absolutely delicious! Another one of our favorite fruity black teas is Blood Orange. It comes from the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and has both sweet and tart citrus notes.

If you’re not a fan of fruit teas, try our Caramel black tea. It’s another popular pick for Halloween because of its creamy caramel taste. It even has caramel pieces! And of course, we can’t forget one of our most favorite seasonal picks, Gwendalina’s Baked Apple. It’s like a plate of warm apple pie in your mug! Nothing says fall quite like it.

We hope that we’ve inspired you to fill up your mug with black tea this Halloween. For an amazing selection of loose leaf black teas, shop with Tin Roof Teas. We keep our selection updated based on the seasons, so check back often!
